Pay Attention for Additional Clients
More often than not, siblings in the household where you have a client already, also need services. Have blank referral forms available with you at all times in case these siblings need counseling. If they do, you have extra cases right there!. Consider doing some networking and taking the initiative to contact possible referral sources in your area. Some of the most successful therapists have done this and it has paid off for them. Some ideas are: schools, doctors offices, DJJ, DCF, case management companies, daycares, apartment buildings, etc... they're all good sources for possible referrals. Before going to a school be sure to contact Max for approval.

Approach PCPs who take Sunshine, WellCare, etc.
A lot of counselors have elected to visit, or mail something to the primary care physicians who take Medicaid clients. This is hard work, but definitely worth doing! One physician's office who refers to you could mean dozens of clients!!!
You can simply go to the plan's websites to find a provider, and you can filter for a list in your area, for Medicaid PCPs. Here is Wellcare's website. Here is Cenpatico's website.
EDDM
Do you know of an area of town, or certain apartment complexes that you know have possible Medicaid clients? Let us know which ones, or which specific areas. We can use the Postal Service's EDDM program to target these neighborhoods for you. We will make an advertising postcard to each household in the postal route. We'll pay for it, we just need to information to know where to target. You can find more information here.
