All Medicaid plans. You can see our updated list here. We are also a provider for Florida Blue, however, there is limited availability for those cases, since only a handful of providers (counselors) are able to take Florida Blue cases. Florida Blue insurance is subject to copayments and deductibles.
Yes, even if it's just a couple of times per month. This is an industry standard of care for most cases. If you are receiving therapy outside of Lukas Counseling, you must provide a Release of Information so that we can obtain records from your other provider to have on file.
Simply complete the online secured referral form, and our office managers will contact you soon to get started. After you submit it, you are welcome to send Shere or Taylor and email to introduce yourselves and let them know what you want, although this step is completely optional and not necessary. Their emails are referrals@lukascounseling.org and referrals2@lukascounseling.org.
Our clinical staff are independent contractors, not employees. Every counselor or case manager who contracts with us, has passed (1) a local county background check, (2) and a Level-2 background check done by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the FBI, which is the highest background check we can obtain.
That depends. Most cases are seen weekly. We will work around your schedule to make sure the counseling session is at an agreed-upon time between you and the counselor. Some counselor work weekends, others not. If you cannot seem to find a good schedule, you're always welcome to ask our Office Managers for a re-assignment if that's possible.
Of course you can. But please be aware, that we might not have a counselor available for in-person counseling in your county. Most counselors are still doing telehealth. Counselors are slowly transitioning back to in-person, but you should be aware, that if you absolutely need in-person counseling, you might have to wait for a match with one of our clinicians.
It depends. Some school districts require an agreement between Lukas Counseling and the district, others don't. We are partners with many school districts across the state, by being their preferred providers. If we are not at your county, we will inquire to see about becoming a preferred provider.
No, you do not need referrals from your doctor to access our services.
If your Medicaid becomes inactive during a particular month, you will have the option of pausing services or continuing services at our self-pay rates. If your insurance ever changes, you must let your therapist or case manager know, to avoid delays.
